Adal Medical University was founded in 2015 after it was realized that there was a need for opening up of a university that provides quality medical education.

The main reason for establishing this university is to train health professionals who take part in health service delivery efforts and to offer professionally.

The main aim was to meet the widespread demand for medical services. The existing health institutions in the country don’t have the necessary capacity to meet the yearly demand and to accommodate the number of students that are interested in enrolling health education institutions in the country.

Adal Medical University is located in Borama, Somaliland and it aspires to bring together the most promising students who value and seek knowledge to acquire a medical profession, want to lead principled lives, and assume leading roles in solving major health problems of society.

The University is dedicated to the highest standard of health education to promote self-knowledge and engagement with the world through learning, research, and action.

Adal Medical University strives also to create a learning environment where intellectual freedom is cherished, tolerances to different ideas exist and that is contradictory to one’s opinions, and the personal, as well as the physical integrity of everyone, is respected and protected.
