The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science provides a strong background in the principles underlying the science of food and human nutrition.

The Nutritional Sciences emphasizes intensive study in biological and physical sciences as a basis for understanding the science of nutrition and the relationships between nutrients and human health. The general objectives of the Medical Laboratory Sciences are:

1. To train medical laboratory science practitioners who are capable of providing comprehensive health laboratory services in hospitals, regional laboratories, and health centers and are also capable of training subordinate laboratory personnel
2. To conduct research activities in the area of clinical laboratory sciences and public health based on the existing problems and felt need of the society.

3. To participate in community services and to take an active part in solving general problems related to health.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Medicine and Surgery shall normally require study duration of Five years with three semesters on a full-time basis, and one-year internship program.

The faculty of nursing and Midwifery provides a high quality, efficient and comprehensive health training for nurses in Somaliland. The program will produce a high quality, efficient and qualified and competent nurse and midwifery who is proficient in nursing, midwifery and community healthcare

The rapid growth and dynamic nature of medicine in general and nursing in particular demands that nurses are trained in order to acquire and develop the capacity for creativity, independent medical and clinical reasoning, problem-solving and decision making ability and skills that enable them to deliver quality health services.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and midwifery shall normally require study duration of three years with three semesters on a full-time basis.

The mission of the Optometry science program is to produce competent, ethical Doctors of Optometry by provided that them with a comprehensive optometric education.

1. Achieve the proper balance between clinical education and patient care
2. Intentionally present and assess professionalism and ethics of students throughout the curriculum.
3. Doctor of Optometry (DOP) who is capable to perform clinical and surgical requirement according to curriculum

The Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry shall normally require study duration of Four years with three semesters on a full-time basis.

The aim of the training is to produce competent public health students who undertake promotive, preventive, rehabilitative health and nutrition services compatible with the needs of the population.  The training will equip the public health students with appropriate knowledge, skill and attitude so that she or he is able to effectively and efficiently solve the health and health-related problems of individuals, families, and communities.   In addition, the graduates will manage the health institutions they will be assigned to in a spirit of teamwork and community– based approach.

OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the training program the graduating public health students will be able to:

1. Assess community health needs & prioritize identified problems
2. Intervene in identified health and health-related problems of the community
3. Provide promotive& rehabilitative health services
4. Prevent and control diseases
5. Lead health services and health offices
6. Undertake operational research
